Nidus Vespae* Lu Feng Fang 10g Expels Wind, dries Dampness, relieves toxicity, expels Wind and alleviates pain and itching.
Rz. Chuanxiong Chuan Xiong 15g Invigorates the Blood, promotes the movement of Qi, expels Wind and alleviates pain.
Rx. et Rz. Notopterygii Qiang Huo 10g Expels Wind-Cold-Dampness, unblocks painful obstruction and alleviates pain.
With Chuan Xiong, for headache and generalized body aches and pains associated with the common cold or painful obstruction.
Rx. Angelicae Dahuricae Bai Zhi 10g Expels Wind, eliminates Dampness, dispels Cold and alleviates pain.
With Chuan Xiong, for headache.
With Huang Qin, for Wind-Heat headache.
With Qiang Huo, for Wind-Cold Dampness causing fever, chills and headaches.
Rx. Scutellariae Huang Qin 12g Clears Heat, dries Dampness, drains Fire, detoxifies and calms ascending Liver Yang.
Rx. Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Zhi Fu Zi 10g Disperses Cold and Dampness, warms the channels and stops pain.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 5g Moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs and guides the herbs to all twelve channels.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • Sudden pain while talking
  • Often appears after exposure to Wind
  • Sometimes the patient wakes from sleep
  • The pain is severe lasts from several seconds to two minutes
  • The pain suddenly stops
  • Pain mostly occurs in the maxillary and mandibular branches
  • Pain in the optic branch is rare

  • *Nidus Vespae, Lu Feng Fang is toxic and should be used with caution.
HERB/DRUG INTERACTIONS

NOTES

  • Decoct with 2 parts water and 1 part wine. Take morning and evening. One course of treatment is seven days.
